
About Yu-Shan
Yu-Shan Chen, born and raised in Taiwan, has spent the last 21 years in the United States. She embarked on her career in the hospitality industry at the age of 28, working her way up from a hostess to a General Manager within eight years. This remarkable journey was fueled not by chance but by her unfaltering hard work and resilience in a foreign country. Few of her great accomplishments include increasing retention to 100% for a under-funded food & beverage department, curating a cornerstone revenue generator private dining program in Hawai'i, and defining rigorous service standards that are approachable yet elevated. Recognizing the crucial importance of mental well-being for hospitality workers, Yu-Shan reflected on her own experiences where the intense work-life had derailed her personal life and affected her self-esteem. Driven by a desire to serve a meaningful purpose, she founded YuShine Hospitality & Wellness Solutions, a consulting campany where hospitality meets wellness in supporting excellence and promoting well-being. Through what she calls a WellServed mindset, Yu-Shan aims to transform lives and businesses, embodying the message, "be the game changer."
